If you suspect your drive maybe failing, turn off the computer ASAP and contact us, the longer the drive is powered on the more damage you may be doing to your data. Continued use may damage the platters (Data Storage Area) and make your information unrecoverable.

Getting a copy of any information you require can be resolved relatively quickly, getting your Computer, Macbook or Laptop back in working order may involve further work but be assured if there is “no physical issues” with the internal computer hard drive we can usually make a full copy of all your information and have it easily restored.

If you have an older Computer, Laptop that is not working or has been stored in the garage and you have no further use for it other than the data, we can easily backup the data or remove the drive and transfer anything required to a new computer or external hard drive.

Your hard drive or data would usually be unaffected and therefore data recoverable. By removing the drive we can have access to the data or by repairing the existing issue, we can restore the unit to fully functional with no interference to the existing setup or data.

Liquid Damage, the internal hard drive which holds your information is an isolated component. From experience unless you have been extremely unfortunate the hard drive and data are usually ok even though the computer might not be repairable.

The majority of these issues can usually be resolved however be warned if your hard drive has completely failed, you have no backups then you are greatly reducing your chances of a successful data recovery. A “No Bootable Device Found” error message when you turn on your computer is usually an indication of a hard drive failure, basically the internal hard drive has broken down completely. We can organise our specialist department to assess at a forensic level on whether the data is recoverable, this involves actually dismantling the hard drive in a sealed, dust free environment and attempting to recover the data from the disc platters. If a mechanical failure there is a good chance the data is recoverable but not guaranteed.
